estate duty 这个词在black's law dictionary 中的意思是：A tax imposed on the principal value of all property that passed on death. 应是：财产遗产税，但我在网上又看到有“财产税”的译法，究竟怎么区分呢？

estate duty：首先译为“遗产税”。在英格兰，根据1894年法律对遗产主要价值征收的一种税，现已经被1975年的资本转让税“capital transfer tax”取代。

也可以译为“继承税”：遗产税，又称继承税，是以财产所有人死亡后遗留的财产为课征对象，向财产继承人或遗嘱执行人、遗产管理人征收的一种财产税。

“财产税”和“遗产税”有密切的关系： 遗产税是以财产所有人死亡后所遗留的财产为课税对象课征的一种税,属于财产税的一种。遗产税的税基是个人财产。遗产税必须以财产税基础。遗产税和财产税虽然是两个不同的税种，但遗产是由财产转化来的，财产是遗产的基础，税基相同。美征收财产税，而英国则不征财产税，只征遗产税。

综上所述，estate duty译为“遗产税”较好，也可译做“继承税”。
至于“财产税”，还是和“遗产税有细微上下位差异，最好不这样译，但是不排除在特定语境下，可能有时还有“财产税”的意思。

在这两段翻译中，分别把estate duty 翻译成了“遗产税”和“财产税”，能否请老师看一下，这样的翻译可取吗？

税种非常多，翻译起来比较麻烦。原译文翻得基本差不多，它也就是所谓提供的“标准”译文了。你可以参考一下。

翻成了“财产遗产税”也可以，它兼顾了“财产”和“遗产”两个概念，是一种折中的办法，不过由于上下文中税种较多，比较齐全。为避免冲突和概念混淆，也可以翻成“财产税”。

第二种范围比较宽，上下位没有多少限定，最好根据原文背景和全文来定，在这里可以任选一种中文的相关译名。
